The ELITE GAME CHALLENGE

So you think you’re a gamer? Let’s see…

For people who love video games, challenges, and storytelling, I have created something just for you: The Elite Game Challenge! This challenge has three difficulties that you may choose from, and each difficulty has three parts that must be completed before moving on. The challenges start very basic, requiring participants to simply beat campaigns but quickly get more difficult, requiring participants to step out of their comfort zones to play games they may, otherwise, have never thought to.

As you go, you’ll unlock Titles to use before your username, and upgrades for your cosmetic Medallion that will serve as your “avatar.” And as for the Medallion Icons, you’re rewarded the Gray Medallion simply for signing up:

Once you complete the first Act in the Bronze section, you’re rewarded the Bronze Medallion and you’re also rewarded new Icons, Bases, Toppers, and Backgrounds as you go (all Bronze until you beat Silver Challenges). The bronze, silver, and gold challenges reward you with as follows (and more).

Each Medallion color is unlocked once Act I is complete for that difficulty, and the images you see inside of them correspond to the challenge that was completed to unlock them. Once you COMPLETE the GOLD challenges, you unlock the highly coveted FREE COLOR Medallion, which allows you to change the color of any and all of the Medallion icon pieces and rewards you with what you see below, and more.

As far as when you can start, it can be anytime at all. Now, last week, a year ago: as long as you have saved when you completed the game and can refer back to that day (like a Grouvee.com or howlongtobeat.com) then you can count those towards your challenges.

To sign up, simply click on the link below that will take you to a Google Spreadsheet, on which you can “comment” your howlongtobeat.com Username (if you don’t already have an account there, I recommend making one. It’s a great way to keep track of your Wishlist, Backlog, Retired Games, games you’re Playing, and games you’ve completed) and then add “comments” to fill in the blanks as you progress. I’ll remove the comments and make them into edits every day when I check the Spreadsheet (in order to prevent people from deleting everything for “fun”).

If you have any questions, feel free to leave them as comments as well, or comment directly on this post!

As always, thanks for reading and I’ll see you soon.
