Weekly Trophy Round-Up (1/21-1/27)

Most of my gaming-focus this week was on finishing the Pantheon of the Knight in Hollow Knight, and while I came so close numerous times, I did not get that trophy. So, I took a break and went through a few FPS’s that I’ve been meaning to play for awhile now. Here are the games I played, and the trophies I earned… and the format I’m using.

Abzû

  • Zen Master: Find all the meditation statues (silver) 16.67%
  • Collector: Add all secret shells to your collection (gold) 14.99%
  • Ecosystem: Release fish from all the hidden pools (silver) 15.08%
    • Notes: I finished off this game by following a guide to get the collectibles and reaching 100%. There’s really nothing noteworthy to say, it was a chore and I’m glad I got it done.

Flower

  • Welcome Back: Play the game after a week-long break (bronze) 47.70%
  • flOw: Life could be simple… (bronze) 21.01%
  • Wind: Play with the windmills and ride the wind seven times (bronze) 22.27%
  • Beginning: The dream has just started (bronze) 30.10%
  • Healthy Play: Take a ten-minute break between any dreams (bronze) 36.93%
  • Memories: Reminisce for three minutes before returning to the room (bronze) 33.54%
  • Palette: Use the grass as your canvas and paint the ground with three different colors (bronze) 22.47%
  • Illumination: Light a darkened pool (bronze) 22.46%
  • Pure: Journey to the city unscathed (bronze) 9.71%
  • Dream: Beyond all flowers lies another room (gold) 11.87%
  • Urban: Completely awaken the city (silver) 17.61%
  • Stars: Release all of the names to the sky (bronze) 17.91%
  • Nature: Bloom 10,000 flowers (silver) 9.70%
    • My trophy hunting for Flower actually made me appreciate the game much more. Sometimes, trophy hunting just kills the excitement of the game but I was pleasantly surprised with how my enjoyment increased. Still, it was a chore but a chore I don’t regret completing.

Journey

  • Mirage: Find the hidden desert flower (bronze) 18.44%
  • History: Uncover all 10 ancient glyphs (bronze) 11.21%
  • Wonder: Meet 10 or more unique travelers (silver) 21.74%
  • Ancestors: Find a mysterious creature hidden in the temple (bronze) 15.01%
  • Reflection: Sit and meditate with another player for more than 20 seconds (bronze) 22.38%
  • Crossing: Reach the summit with a companion and return to the beginning (bronze) 31.30%
  • Transcendence: Collect all unique glowing symbols across one or more journeys (gold) 12.57%
  • Threshold: Cross the broken bridge without completely rebuilding it (bronze) 13.39%
  • Adventure: Pass through 15 gates while surfing through the sunken city (bronze) 15.27%
  • Explore: Discover all cloth creatures in the desert (bronze) 16.06%
    • This is the only platinum-less game this week that I worked on without 100%ing it. There are two trophies holding me back: one for passing through the underground tunnels without losing any of my scarf (which I did three times and did not get the trophy on any run), and another for completing most of the game with the same partner. I have no idea how to do that since people come and go quite frequently.

Unravel

  • Gardener: Tear down all the thistles in one go (silver) 38.39%
  • Eagle Eye: Find the secret hidden in the treetops where you fly (silver) 29.36%
    • I started to trophy hunt but lost interest in the second level. I just wasn’t in the mood for playing along with a YouTube video, it takes the fun out of playing. I’d much rather trophy hunt by playing and not following along.

Little Nightmares

  • Hard to the Core: What’s different about you? Why are you so brave? (gold) 4.82%
    • Here is what I’m most proud of: a trophy that I’ve been working on for about a week now. I wanted to see it on last week’s Round-Up but I kept messing it up. Finally, I got it done and am really just so happy with myself that I stuck with it. There were a few times when I immediately closed out of the app after a failed run and considered uninstalling the game, but decided not to (it’s like 2 gigs).

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition

  • Fits Like a Glove: Meet your new best friend (bronze) 79.14%
  • Patched Up: Receive a software update for your leash (bronze) 72.86%
  • Wannabe: Perform 10 different Single Player Skillshorts (bronze) 66.72%
  • All Bow to Heavy Metal: Big head, big headache (bronze) 57.13%
  • Disco Inferno: Kill all enemies without leaving the dance floor in the city outskirts (bronze) 31.84%
  • Somebody: Perform 25% of the Single Player Skillshots (bronze) 51.06%
  • Size Matters: Use your biggest weapon (bronze) 48.06%
  • Damsel in Distress: Rescue the princess (bronze) 44.42%
  • Weed Killer: Tidy up the back yard (bronze) 38.99%
  • Big Cheese: Perform 50% of the Single Player Skillshots (bronze) 35.33%
  • No Man Left Behind: Kill all enemies while escaping from the collapsed building (bronze) 25.30%
  • Minced Meat: Take out the Mall’s biggest customer (bronze) 36.18%
  • Major Malfunction: Destroy 50% of the Newsbots in the Single Player Campaign (bronze) 36.95%
  • Grilled Meat: Prepare a big meal using an improvised electric stove (bronze) 33.65%
  • Armed and Dangerous: Grow as a person, experience betrayal. Again. (bronze) 33.54%
  • Stowaway: Catch a ride (bronze) 32.49%
  • Destructive Beat: Complete the Campaign on Very Easy or Easy Difficulty (bronze) 32.31%
  • Violent Melody: Complete the Campaign on Normal Difficulty (bronze) 27.39%
  • Celebrity: Perform 75% of the Single Player Skillshots (bronze) 12.90%
    • I played this extremely casually, without much care for which trophies I was getting or which ones I was working towards. I beat the campaign but had so much fun with it that I wanted to play more. So, I started what is sort of a New Game Plus mode on Very Hard and played for a while. Then, I stopped and decided to move onto a different game.

Wolfenstein: The New Order

  • Wyatt Saved: Choose to save Wyatt (silver) 53.77%
  • Deadeye: Unlock tactical perk 1 (bronze) 80.46%
  • Endurance I: Unlock assault perk 2 (bronze) 40.67%
  • Knife Throwing: Unlock stealth perk 2 (bronze) 87.15%
  • Silent Shot: Unlock stealth perk 5 (bronze) 58.39%
  • Knife Sheath +: Unlock stealth perk 3 (bronze) 57.71%
  • Scout II: Unlock stealth perk 7 (bronze) 77.12%
  • Vive La Resistance!: Locate the resistance (bronze) 79.29%
  • Quick Draw: Unlock tactical perk 2 (bronze) 72.85%
  • Quick Regeneration: Unlock tactical perk 3 (bronze) 70.27%
  • Power to the Laser: Find the Laserkraftwek (bronze) 74.31%
  • Scavenger: Unlock assault perk 3 (bronze) 35.02%
  • Hidden in the Deep: Locate the underwater stash (bronze) 66.14%
  • Quick Reload: Unlock tactical perk 8 (silver) 52.16%
  • Vaporize: Unlock demolition perk 6 (bronze) 30.24%
  • Grenade Pouch +: Unlock demolition perk 2 (bronze) 60.92%
  • Gun Magazine +: Unlock tactical perk 4 (bronze) 37.56%
  • Dual-Wield Expert: Unlock assault perk 8 (silver) 46.63%
  • London Uprising: Defeat the London Monitor (silver) 61.16%
  • Deliverance: Release friend (silver) 59.39%
  • Autopanzer: Unlock assault perk 6 (bronze) 58.86%
  • Liberation: Complete the game on any difficulty (gold) 57.39%
    • As you can see, I strictly focused on just getting the story done and whatever trophies I earned along the way just happened to pop up because I did something right. I really wasn’t into this game for the first few hours and it took me a while to really become invested. I started the game on Nov 30, picked it up again on Dec 4, and not ’till now was I enjoying my time with it. I’m glad I finished it but I don’t see myself coming back to it anytime soon. I’d rather just move onto the second game.

THE SUPERLATIVE AWARDS!!

  • Most Fun Trophy to Earn: Big Cheese from Bulletstorm.
    • This trophy wins because I earned it along the way of playing the game, and doing all of the skillshots asked me to play it differently and experiment with my playstyle. It was a blast to do this, and the trophy was a nice reward.
  • Most Boring Trophy to Earn: Reflection from Journey
    • This is a game full of wanderlust adventuring, and here’s a trophy that asks you to find a player and sit next to them for 20 seconds. It felt like 20 minutes and I kept worrying that (s)he’d leave, but the trophy popped and shame washed over me. Was it worth it? Sure.
  • Hardest Trophy to Earn: Hard to the Core from Little Nightmares
    • I finally did it, I earned the trophy for speedrunning through the game in under one hour and without dying at all. I have the game memorized like crazy now and I don’t think I’ll gain anything from ever picking it up again. This trophy sort of killed my enjoyment, to be honest.
  • Easiest Trophy to Earn: Welcome Back from Flower
    • A trophy that automatically pops up when you open the game after not playing it for a week or longer? Alrighty. Thanks, I guess.
  • Most Rewarding Trophy to Earn: Transcendence from Journey
    • I was going to pick Hard to the Core again but I don’t think that was as rewarding as this one. Transcendence was emotionally rewarding but also, there were in-game benefits that made playing so much more exciting. That’s something that I can’t complain about at all.
  • Least Rewarding Trophy to Earn: Nature from Flower
    • I bloomed 10,000 flowers in the game, and really there was no reason I did that other than to get my completion up to 100%. Worst of all, it wasn’t even a gold trophy. It’s the rarest trophy in the game, the one that takes the most playtime and work to earn, and it’s just one tier above the lowest that PlayStation offers players. Yeah, not sure if it was worth the effort.
